Meet Our Board

Monroe County Airport Professional Fire Fighters Association is comprised of 21 Members and 5 Executive Board Members.

Keith Farrell - President

Keith was elected President of Local 1636 for 2021 after serving as Vice president from 2011-2020. He was hired as an Airport Firefighter in 2004 and previously served as a Firefighter in the United States Air Force. He is a married father of three who lives on the east side of Monroe County, and is also a member of the Airport Firefighters Honor Guard.

Paul Miller - Vice President

Paul has spent his entire career as a Union officer with Local 1636, previously serving as President from 1997-2000, and again from 2011-2020. From 2000-2011 he served as Vice president, a role he once again assumed in 2021 as he approaches retirement. Hired as an Airport Firefighter in 1997, he has been a steadfast supporter of our membership from the beginning. Paul also served as a Corpsman in the United States Navy and currently lives in the City of Rochester.

Jason Friday - Secretary/Treasurer

Jason served as a member of the Local 1636 Executive Board for two years before being elected to his current role as Secretary/Treasurer in 2014. He was hired as an Airport Firefighter in 2008, and promoted to Captain in August 2020 . He is a second-generation Firefighter who got his start as an explorer with the Gates-Chii FD in 1998, previously worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic at Kodak Park, and has an AAS in both Fire Science and Paramedicine. He lives on the west side of Monroe County with his wife and two daughters.

Tom Harper - Board Member

Tom has served in his current role as an Executive Board Member since 2011. Hired as an Airport Firefighter in 2003, he was promoted to Captain in August 2020. He lives on the west side of Monroe County with his wife and children.

Michael Knorr - Board Member/Media Coordinator

Mike has served in his current role as an Executive Board Member since 2014 and is the founding member of the Airport Firefighters Honor Guard. As Media Coordinator for Local 1636 he is the member primarily responsible for the Union's public outreach, including writing and distributing press releases, content creation, and management of this website and all social media accounts. He was hired as an Airport Firefighter in 2002 and promoted to Captain in May 2020. He lives on the west side of Monroe County with his wife, and previously served as an active-duty Firefighter in the United States Marine Corps.
